They may have poor judgment, low moral values, nonexistent ethics, no principles, etc., but I don't think they believe what they are saying.

I honestly think somewhere along the way, the grand plan got f'ed up. Like Dominoes, once one falls, the rest start coming down, a chain reaction. At some point, it becomes automatic and is totally out of their control, which is the point I believe they are at right now.

Perhaps it was the Dubai Ports deal that started it all, who knows. But at this point, I think they have abandoned the plan because it is no longer possible, and they are going through the actions of damage control, trying to delay the onset of the inevitable, and make the best of the limited amount of time they have left.

When all else fails, deny, deny, deny...
