You know why I think politicians favor illegal immigration?
Two reasons:

#1: Dummy votes...
Americans have become too smart for politicians to lie to or to manipulate. More and more people are going to college and earning degrees.
By brining in up to 100 million people of unskilled labor, people who are poor and uneducated, the politicians think they can manipulate those votes.

#2: Economic
The corporations would love a reason to bring down the average wages. And brining in another 100 million will sink most of the middle class in America into poverty.

The Senate bill is perhaps the worst anti-worker/anti-American bill passed in American history.

7. Amnesty
When you make someone a citizen, they are able to vote and run for public office.

9. Ok, because you said illegal.
I thought you meant still illegal immigrants voting. Which would be absolutely wrong.

2. With #2 implemented, #1 becomes easier....
I think that the lowering of labor standards and pay to Third World status is the objective of the uber-rich, who have always lamented the end of slavery or, for the compassionate conservatives, indentured servitude. They look longingly at the "freemarket" for labor in Dubai and other Arab potentates where the labor pool is made up of desperate starving people who can be exploited, raped, cheated out of their wages and imprisoned if they try to complain. That, my friends, is the nirvana of the uber-rich. And then they declare themselves masters by divine right.

3. Reason #3-When they offer amnesty for military service = no draft soon
but plenty of cannon fodder for wars of convenience for profiteers.

The US population WILL got postal in the streets when Johnny and Janie get draft notices. Gotta get lots of troops without getting caught in back-draft. Two methods: create such poor economic climate that young people have no jobs and offer amnesty to illegals who enlist.

6. Granting them amnesty will make them citizens
And they can vote when they are citizens. You add 30+ million votes to the electorate, you can significantly alter the politics of the United States.

11. Amnesty does not make
an illegal alien a citizen, one would still have to apply and be approved for citizenship. Amnesty would simply forgive their illegal status. With the track record of INS it would take like 20 years to process that many people. Chimpy likes to talk up new programs but never fund them. He cut spending for border patrol back in Feb, money had been approved to hire close to 10,000 agents over the next 2 years. Not to mention no child left behind etc..etc.

8. I'll go with #2.
Economics, it is always economics. The business owners put up the money to fund campaigns. Their interests are represented so they can make more money. In return they can spend more on more politicians.

The workers don't have the money to spend on a politician so they have no one to represent them.

US politics are always about economics. They just dress it up in different disguises.
