Our Dem leaders are ignoring the will of its people |
|
Read any poll on immigration and what people want and then listen to Harry Reid speak . He wants amnesty for illegals . I hear most Democrats in Congress are with Bush on his "temporary work" Amnesty deal that rewards illegal immigration. So who are these guys listening to? If most Democrats are against amnesty, why are the leaders ignoring us?

4. They don't give a flying crap about what the people want |
|

The pools say:
60% of republicans oppose amnesty. 55% of democrats oppose amnesty. 60% of union members oppose amnesty. 51% of hispanic citizens oppose amnesty.
Obviously the people are opposed to amnesty - but this is about BIG BUSINESS and CHEAP LABOR. Can't do anything to upset the fat cats. Besides, if the Democrats and the Rethuglicans stand side-by-side, they think that they can't loose voters to the other side.
Washington corrupts.

6. Is it really obvious? We are talking about Democrats here |
|
not racist Freepers. Of course they are against amnesty, they don't want 11 million new Democratic voters.

15. Short term political gain does not solve this problem at either |
|
a national or an international level. It perpetuates corporate/employer illegal activity and does not correct the trade and labor standards for workers worldwide.

10. Reid is protecting the big hotel industry in Las Vegas. |
|
That's how he begins each speech he's made on the topic--describing the detriment to the hotel industry in Vegas.

11. Dem leaders instead should be screaming about scrapping NAFTA |
|
and replacing it with a program that favors workers instead of corporations. Our democratic leaders have to help the workers in Mexico make a decent living, or they'll continue to cross the border. It's that freakin' simple!

The place at which Dems have chosen to focus on this issue is just plain wrong. This is both a labor and national security issue.

12. and FReeps are tearing their hair out... |
|
The politicians in D.C. have pretty much arrived at a consensus that precludes consideration of opinion from either the Left or the Right base on this issue. No wonder the chimp is throwing feces at his betters. No one is winning at this point except that present conditions at the border with Mexico are leaving GOPer's desperately defensive and hypocritical. Typical.
