Raw Story reporting filibuster highly unlikely!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WTF????

I really don't know what I am going to do, if the dems don't filibuster.

What are WE going to do?

Is there a massive call-in planned to the dem Senators?

I am truly scared.

Maybe, I am wrong, but this feels like the moment we truly cross the line into total dictatorship.

I feel helpless.

(And, yes, I have written my Senators to vote against him. Big deal. Kennedy and Kerry. They were already going to vote against him).

This sucks. I feel like moving out of America. This feels like election 2004 all over again!

i don't think there's anything but maybe, MAYBE a symbolic win in it for them.

i'd love for them to -- but i think they'll oppose him in an up or down vote.

i think too that they are hoping that this court overturns roe v wade -- and there will be a substantial backlash.

lot o' if's if you ask me.

lol -- nobody did.

3. For once I think Raw Story is wrong (and I love that site)
Because I truly think the democrats want everyone to believe the filibuster is being ruled out so we dont' have to deal with the damn "Nuclear Option" threat that comes up everytime there is a judicial nomination.

And Feinstein is smart - she receives major funds from pro-choice groups so I can't see her turning her back on them. I think Reid and Leahy has asked everyone to keep quiet and play down the filibuster so we keep the Nuclear Option out of the picture

4. If they don't, they better have NO's across the board
When it hits the floor. I expect every single one of them to vote NO on this Nomination!

If that that asshole Nelson votes with them he needs to just switch parties, same with Landrieu goes for Biden too.

By voting NO they are showing us.. their supporters they heard us. Ignore us and they deserve to get booted

5. the corporations want Scalito
he's their guy

the corporations own the Dems every bit as much as they own the repukes.

a few token dems will make a stink during the hearings about some meaningless social issue, but the real game that's being played has nothing to do with abortion or racism or strict constructionism. that's all sleight of hand.

the corporations want another RW vote on the bench. they want a vote that will always side with corporate extremism. They'll get it.

Filibuster? Hell, there won't even be a voice raised in angry opposition.

7. Absolutely correct
getting Roberts and Alito is a MAJOR score for corporations.

You can pretty much rule out getting any handle on corporate power/influence in our government for the next 40 or 50 years.

Oh, and women should probably start staking out their favored back alley right about now as well

8. folks have to realize that when it comes to the REALLY important . . .
issues -- issues like corporate control of the government -- there isn't a hoot of difference between Republicans and Democrats . . . both rely on contributions from corporate sponsors, and both will vote the way those sponsors want them to vote . . .

10. Maybe they have the votes. A group of pro-choice repubs
have come out against him. According to Rachel Maddow, they have 5 GOP senators on their board.

Then there's the few libertarian guys who may be nervous about the presidential powers.

So, perhaps there will be no filibusters, because they don't need one.

Its a thought.

11. Call Grassley!
Get him to ask about Alito's viewpoint on State Secrets privilege usage in court decisions. I think that would be a wedge issue for him and the rest of the Rethugs!
