Bush had no Texas accent during most of his speech. Weird, huh. |

and you'll see he speaks completely differently.

21. He was talking to the Reaganites, and trying to IMITATE Reagan |
|
in the process. Down to the brief pauses, followed by head tics, the hand gestures, the phrases, even the speech itself (which sounded like it was written by Peggy Noonan!). To say nothing of the cadence and timbre of his speech.
A bit late to head for the big sloppy middle of America, and likely an unsuccessful attempt.
One thing is obvious--he practiced it, a LOT.

You nailed it, baby.
My Canadian sweetheart (you know who I'm talking about) was watching the replay on KO and said, "This is the first time I have agreed with most of what he is saying."
If she is saying that, the 'base' is plucking chickens and warming tar.

He was pathetic, but bowed to me, the middle and a Dem!(horrors!), in a weird sort of way. He wants it all, so he won't get any satisfaction from anywyhere. He is doomed!

This will not get two more days of play - if that.
I think he pretty much played the last virgin (not already played) card.
He actually floated a lot of these points while campaigning for Vicente Fox (now THERE's a thread) and was shouted down by the Right. Dropped, as in Hot Rock.
He is mere cinders and ash - reduced to the most simple structure with no energy with which to generate anything at all.

I never figured out why Karl and Karen didn't get him a better dialect teacher. I guess though it seems to work as a Texas accent for those who don't know any better.

How he can actually make himself sound like he isn't really from Texas after all. This guy just never ceases to amaze me with all his talents and abilities to decieve, cheat, steal, lie, kill, destroy, divide, delude....
