just in case we didn't know why kids don't learn geography... |

http://www.usatoday.com/weather/storms/2006-05-14-new-england-flooding_x.htmin which the highly reliable USA Today shows that Concord is the capital of Vermont, which now borders the Atlantic ocean. Hmmm....

Geography was mandatory when I was in school, and I made sure both of my girls knew it, too. The dumbing of Amerika has been going on for some time, it is just more blatant than it used to be.

clown :+ smiley in my post? The USAToday gaffe of labeling NH as Vermont is just plain silly, too.
I had thought about noting that Concord was in California (there is one, and it's larger than the MA and NH cities combined) but I figured that would be too obscure a reference.

Had two sumps running in my backyard to keep the pool of water from coming in the basement. I was lucky. No water. I am up on ledge, so only a bit of seepage in the basement.
