8. Yep, when your job is nothing but reading teleprompters, it can be a
problem.

He does absolutely nothing else but read teleprompters. No notes on the desk, no ability to continue speaking until the teleprompter is fixed.

BTW, I will never, ever feel sorry for this mass murdering war criminal. MKJ

5. Hell we've been looking at this ass for over 5 years now.
I watched CBS's coverage, so this must explain why he just sat there for a couple of seconds after the intro. :D

I know the pic is blurry but his watch looks off. Maybe it's just Mickey's face obscuring the hands.

12. Is it still possible to buy satellite dishes that receive network feeds?
Years and years ago, my mom used to have one of those clunk-old satellite dishes the size of a bathtub. You'd have to punch-in the name of a satellite and a transponder number, depending on what channel you wanted to watch.

Sometimes, you'd be able to tune-in to the live network feeds, with reporters rehearsing their lines, or sending their b-roll footage, or just chit-chatting with the control room.

Is it still possible for the average consumer to legally receive and record that stuff?

13. When I saw it live, I thought for a moment that he was pitching a
fit.

I had just said to my husband that I wanted to see the speech, since I knew he was being told he had to do it.

I had a fleeting thought that he just clammed up with a "you can't make me do this" look on his face.

My husband recognized right away what was going on and said, "His teleprompter crashed."

For one second, though, I thought it was the ultimate tantrum. :hi: MKJ

14. Let's see, when Clinton's teleprompter failed to work properly...
he spoke from the heart and the mind until it was functioning properly. No one noticed.

When Bush's teleprompter failed to work properly, he sets there looking like a school kid who was just told he had to stay after school...

The difference between a statesman and, well, a school kid who was just told he'd have to stay after school.

16. I don't think the teleprompter failed this time
I think he was told to stop.

He got a do-over. :)

17. "Do over???" Hey, that's a "mulligan!"
Remember when Clinton took a mulligan once while playing golf, how the GOP was all over him, chided and chortling about his need to "do a do over?"

http://www.scoop.co.nz/stories/HL0602/S00231.htm

Are you saying Bush took a "mulligan?" Oh, no...what happened to his decisive, spot-on leadership?!?!?
