Remember Rather's memogate. Drudge hammered Rather from the beginning.

Why it was as if he had inside information.

His silence is deafening.

Don't you think??

1. Difference: Lots and lots of people watch CBS and know who Rather is.
Very few people have ever heard of Truthout and even fewer know who Leopold is.

7. If he wanted to take a swipe at Liberal bloggers, he'd go after someone
with much greater reach, like Salon or Kos or TPM.

that an announcement is coming this week from a phone call he received last night.

21. you correspond w/JL?
I'm ashamed of how many of our community have turned against him, and have succumbed to the denials of the treacherous, treasonous liars.

23. me 2...i sent him an email yesterday and he thanked me
for showing support, so i asked him if he thought his sources were using him and he said he was convinced after a phone call he received that an announcement would come this week. I told him to hang in there and that he would hopefully be vindicated.

24. Unfortunately he has
many people literally holding him to every word of his article, rather than focusing on the fact that this is from insiders feeding very sensitive information which could jeopardize their careers.

These communications could easily be misinterpreted as to exactness of terminology and the article went out with them stated as factual. I don't give a damn if it is 24 hours or 24 minutes. If he got absolute confirmation of certain indictment from people who KNOW it is going to happen this week, he got it right.

And he was the first one to do it. Anyone who jumps on him for the trees instead of the forest should try and do what he does and see how well their sources compare.

11. I think it's matter of picking ones battles....
As another poster said, Jason Leopold/truthout mean nothing to most folks out there. I doubt anyone would really care.

Now, if JL/truthout are the ones that break this, that's a different story.

17. I put zero cred on the 24 hours bit
Never did believe that.

Personally I don't think he has been indicted.

Yet.

I do, however, think that Fitz did have a meeting with Rove's legal rep Friday. And that may be interesting as to what was talked about.

I do look for action and an indictment of Karl Rove.

And sooner, rather than later.

19. It was basically an attempt to buy time....
Then if Rove was/is indicted by Wednesday, Leopold at the very least gets the benefit of the doubt. But the "24 business hours" nonsense is a totally naked attempt to buy time and hope the timing shakes out, in my opinion.

27. Why hasn't Rove's team demanded a retraction?
Probably because they're enjoying the liberal blogs self-destruct more

I'm waiting for Fitz and named sources, as I would if a right wing "news agency" made similiar claims against a Democrat.
