I have *had* it with "Protecting the people is our number 1 priority".
The president and members of Congress take an oath to "defend the Constitution", not the people.

How can an oath, taken with hand on the Bible, in front of the American people, be so easily overlooked.

I am tired of all of this "protecting the people" crap from our leaders. Someone needs to remind them of their "real" primary responsibility. And, then we can pray the Constitution protects us from *them*.

2. I'm with you, but the sheeple aren't.
They think the pretzeldunce should protect them, no matter what rights are lost, no matter how statistically insignificant the threat.

3. It turns the sheeple into children and they let the Daddy-state
get away with anything in the name of it.

I agree it is the one thing that shows a voter's stupidity when they claim the "government has the right to protect us." Then it will claim to "tools" to carry out this "responsibility." Those are the tools of the all seeing parent, who can search your room whenever they want, monitor where you go.

It is the mentality that refuses to grow up.

4. They talk out of both sides of their mouths.

If they were genuinely concerned about protecting their peoples well-being they would see to it that they would have adequate medical care and housing.

7. do our jewish members of congress take the oath to defend the constitution
with hand in bible?

i am not sure how to think about that since the bible contains the new testament which is not part of their religion--nor part of what they believe in. something is amiss.

9. Good question. I don't know the answer...
but you can bet * did.

How far are people going to let this slide before someone steps up and points this out to pols/pundits anytime they say that "protecting the people" is job one. I *do* know the answer to that one.
