Israel takes back $50 million deal with evangelist Pat Robertson |
|
Israel punishes US TV evangelist -- Israel is pulling out of a $50 million deal with US TV evangelist Pat Robertson after he said Ariel Sharon's stroke was divine retribution.
Tourism Ministry spokesman Ido Hartuv said Israel would not sign a contract with Mr Robertson to build a biblical theme park by the Sea of Galilee.
Mr Robertson suggested on his popular TV show the stroke was a punishment for Israel's withdrawal from Gaza.
His remarks were condemned by the US government and American Jewish groups.
Mr Robertson was leading a group of evangelical Christians hoping to build the Galilee World Heritage Park.
Pat should try stand-up comedy...!

2. This is the kind of payback Pat will understand! MONEY! |
|
I disagree with all these religious theme parks because all they do is take $$ from people who really don't have much and make their owners rich! However, I cammend Israel for backing out of this deal with Pat. That's definately a move HE will understand!

of totally severing a dangerous, insane relationship with powerful Christian fundamentalists simply because of their money and power. Maybe he could take that dough and make Dante's Inferno outside of DC. Some could use reminders of special punishments for graft and political crime which was of special interest to the Italian poet. The he could baptize the park with a personal ride in Lucifer's jaws in Cocytus.
The Spencer Tracy movie can serve as a model.

To leave Godly duties, like judging people, to God alone.

7. That beanie thing is called a yarmulke in Yiddish |
|
and a kipah in Hebrew. The thought of Pat Robertson wearing one by either name almost made me lose my breakfast! :puke:
