Was it only land line companies who offered up their records? |
|
Edited on Tue May-16-06 03:36 PM by sarcasmo
I have not heard anything about cell phone companies. All Tell, Nextell, Cingular? Any sources, or links to back up that Nextel didn't give up their info to the NSA?

1. They did tell ABC reporters to "get new cell phones"! |
|
When I heard that, it sure convinced ME they were doing cells too.

I think they're the largest cell phone service provider in the US.

5. Verizon was already busted. I am looking for someone who wasn't. |
|
Verizon already admitted to handing over the goods to the NSA.

6. Just answering your initial question: |
|
"Was it only land line companies who offered up their records?"
The answer is obviously no, since Verizon was included.

7. Link. Appears Nextel & Cingular cooperated with NSA |
|
Two others - Sprint Nextel and Cingular - said they do not comment on national security issues but did not deny participation. Both said they are committed to protecting their customers' privacy.http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-ctphonez0513.artmay13,0,155379.story?coll=hc-headlines-localothers also are listed in the article.

8. You mean as opposed to cell carriers? |
|
If you think you have ever had any privacy on a cell phone call you're in for a big surprise.
Intercepting and tracking cell phone conversations is so trivial on a technical level that you should always assume every conversation you have on a cell phone is being listened to by both the government and criminals (or, a criminal government).
