Federal Election Reform: How are we to get anywhere without it?
Edited on Tue May-16-06 06:12 PM by Copperred

Can someone explain to me why the Democratic core and public is not pushing absolute federal election reform and standards as THE number one issue of all time if they are EVER to get back in long term power?

I am dismayed and honestly fed up with the Democrats and a public that seems not to follow their own instincts. If the voting machines are not fully made open and standardized across the Union how are we ever to get any where?

Hello the machines don't work...end of story. There is a group of ameircans who don't want them to EVER be standardized and simple to use..etc etc... THEY ARE THE ENEMY. Yes, it IS a black and white issue.

Why is federal election reform NOT the FRONT issue for the DNC and whomever they hoist in '08?

SOMEONE?

If villagers in India can vote and be sure its counted, why can't I?

IS ANYONE TAKING THIS SERIOUSLY?

1. Because that won't get them elected - they know it.
It will change - but not if the party with an interest in suppressing change stays in power.

I KNOW you are right. I am CERTAIN Kerry really won in 04 - but we live in America 06.There is a political reality. We do have to win before we can expect a true change. Fortunately - we live in the United States, the land of tar and feather, the land of run them out on a rail. We were born in revolt, and we are revisionists at heart.

They can't cheat by more than a few points and not cause a reverberation - not in our country. Not in our history. And the rest is predictible. Really, they are in a box and they know it.

They might cheat - try to - in 06 - for myself, I want this examined up their ass. I want to know for sure what happened in 04. They attempt cheating in 06, we catch it, and we can go back to 04 and once and for all get a truth out of the BS.

3. I hear what your saying but this is THE ticket for the DEMS....

People want their vote to count....NO ONE BELIEVES THEY ARE BEING COUNTED RIGHT....

I see this only as a sure way to bring voters to the Dems. They can be NO pussy footting around on this issue...if they stick by it..it will bring them both the House Senate and the Luxury Pad

4. I am not saying this is not right, should be right.
But I think #1 is the costs of gas today.

It is like, if people don't feel it, it is not a real issue. Seems so. But if they feel it - it is the only issue. I think it is like that.

5. NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No WAY is the COST OF GAS!!!! bigger then the American public not being able to CREDIBIBLY VOTE!!!!!

Whether or not the American public understand that I do not know. We have to assume they are like cattle and need shephards.

If the American public are told by the Dem leadership your votes don't count and we are GOING TO MAKE SURE THEY DO!!!!!!

They will take the WH, Senate and the House..........mark my words on that.

Not only is this a fear based issue that our good brethern will react too....ITS ACTUALLY SOMETHING TO BE AFRAID OF!!!

The price of Gas is not in the control of politicians per se.....commodities go up and down....economiees rise and fall...

No vote...and your not a free man.

6. The GOP controlled house won't let any reform bill see the light of day.
They like the system just as it is: funnels $ into GOP backed corporations and they have controll of the outcome.
