All this talk about "Values Voters" has me steamed.
The right-wing pundits proclaim that the Republican party is the party that is concerned with "values." And this view is parroted by every mainstream media outlet. The implication (explication?) is that Republicans have and value "values," while Democrats and progressives and liberals do not.
Just what the fucking hell are these imbeciles smoking and saying?
Is it an American value to send young men and women to die for big oil and assorted criminal quasi-human corporations?
Is it an American value to tax wages more than dividends, or inherited wealth?
Is it an American value to place individual liberty under the thumb of an omniscient state?
Is it an American value to govern in secret, allowing multinational corporations to author major legislation that affects all of the American people, and benefitting only the corporate elite?
Is it an American value to have partisan companies running our elections?
Is it an American value to have private companies running our prisons for profit?
Is it an American value to have a handful of American corporations control all of our media and news outlets?
Is it an American value for our "minority" brothers and sisters to be abused for the sake of propping up the prejudices of a dying American breed?
Is it an American value to lock people up without due process, or even so much as a formal accusation?
Is it an American value to condone and permit threats against singers and artists only because they oppose what is happening in their name?
Is it an American value to ignore and censor science because it might interfere on your profits?
Is it right to hamper investigations because they might reveal your complicity?
Is it an American value to torture suspects?
Is it right to seat judges that value the rights of corporations more than they value the rights of people?
Is it an American value to prosecute the whistle-blowers, and defend politically-based leaks?
Is it an American value to invade a country that never threatened America, yet ignore genocide in a "black" country?
Is it an American value to do "sneak and peek" searches, without ever alerting the "suspects?"
Is it right to continually lie to the American people, and the world?
I for one, am a "Values Voter." And I hold very little value in our current "leaders."
Please, reject the value-less misleaders that currently command the helm.

1. Well I value my privacy and my right to free speech. |

And Georgie Boy assaults my values just about every day. This whole "Values" BS from the right makes me want to puke.

3. Obviously you've been around at least as long as myself. We remember when |

...it was the genuine patriot who challenged the wayward government (not vise versa).
Now, the (intentionally promulgated) climate of fear allows this wayward government to appear to be true patriots.
Our founding brothers faced down the theocratic crown.
It would be abjectly unpatriotic for us not to do the same today.
