Money diverted from war to borders
(CBS/AP) The Senate voted Wednesday to divert some of the money President Bush requested for the war in Iraq to instead increase patrols against illegal immigrants on the nation's borders and provide the Coast Guard with new boats and helicopters.

While the border security funds had sweeping support, Democrats and Republicans argued over whether the cuts to Pentagon war funds would harm troops on the ground in Iraq. The cuts, offered by Judd Gregg, R-N.H., trim Bush's request for the war by almost 3 percent but don't specify how.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., said Gregg's cuts would "take money from troop pay, body armor and even joint improvised explosive device defeat fund. Now that is a false choice and it is a wrong choice."

What's interesting about this article is that just after Clinton's comments, Gregg marches down and says that the cuts won't hurt the troops and to say so is "poppycock." Yeah - poppycock.

But what's poppycock about it? The cuts don't specify how they will affect the troops. So IMO it's only logical to assume that they won't be GOOD for the troops. I hope he didn't get away with this bullsh*t statement.

1. That's because Rummy is already on his way with another supplemental!
No problemo, we'll just raise the debt ceiling some more! Remember the Dick says deficits don't matter.

2. What's the difference?
The same contractors sucking up our tax dollars in Iraq get to suck it up here too.

Surprise, surprise - Guess who’s coming to a border near you!

It should be more than clear by now that * and the Pugs don't give a flying fuck about the soldiers or private sector citizens.
