FBI raids US House of Representatives office (Dem)

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - FBI officers raided a House of Representatives office building on Saturday night, and NBC television said it had searched the offices of Louisiana Democratic Rep. William Jefferson (news, bio, voting record).

The Federal Bureau of Investigation confirmed the unusual raid at the Rayburn House Office Building on Washington's Capitol Hill but would not say whose office was searched.

"Agents of the FBI's Washington field office executed a search warrant this evening at Rayburn at approximately 7:15," Debbie Weierman, a spokeswoman for the FBI's Washington field office, said.

Weierman said the search warrant was sealed and she could not confirm whose office was being searched.

2. This is a Bush junta-purged FBI. We cannot trust that ANYTHING they do
is objective. In fact, we should presume the opposite until there is hard proof--and even then we don't know if evidence has been manufactured. And I mean this to apply to BOTH Repubs and Dems. There is a lot of corruption in Washington DC, and there has been for long time (long before Bush). It is indeed a culture of corruption. What a great muddy snakepit for Bush criminals to be operating in. They're in their element. And they're spying on everybody. They've got the goods on anybody with anything in their closet, and the means to CREATE crimes where none may exist. They can tag just about anybody, for whatever devious purpose they may have, including just to LOOK LIKE they're fighting crime. We're talking about the biggest criminals on earth, with the most power that any criminal gang ever had. So they're getting people for bribes or dirty lobbying or favors or whatever. Even if these are on a large scale, they are NOTHING--NOTHING!--compared to what the Bush junta and its corporate cabal has done and is doing.

It's POSSIBLE that there might be pockets of integrity left in the FBI, who are going after the most corrupt Bushites below the ranks of the immune (Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, et al)--and catching a few Dems in the bargain--and that these charges are real. I'm saying be skeptical. Be very skeptical. And DO look for ulterior motives. With the massive secrecy--and evil-doing--of this government, we DON'T KNOW what's going on. And the war profiteering corporate news monopolies can't be trusted either, of course. They've been taking dictation right off Karl Rove's desk. They seem to be improving a bit--but that's in the context of their having been a propaganda arm of the regime for five and a half years--as well as colluders and patsies. Just because they report something DOES NOT MEAN IT'S TRUE. And chances are the OPPOSITE is true.

Be leery. Be smart. Read between the lines. Try to consult multiple sources. Don't jump to conclusions. Remember who is STILL in charge. You can trust Bush's agencies about as much as you can trust Bush. (The only exception I would make is the Fitzgerald investigation, which has independent authority--and EVEN THEN--even with Fitzgerald's reputation as a straight-shooter--we should not underestimate the Bush junta's power to manipulate events.)

The only solution I can see to any of this is to take back our right to vote from the Bushite corporations that gained control over it during the 2002-2004 period. Only when we, the people, are back in charge can we start rebuilding honest institutions, and have some faith again in fairness and justice in our own land.
