Did anyone else just watch Link TV's program on 9/11 workers?
Edited on Thu Jan-12-06 09:04 PM by Neecy
It was produced by the Sierra Club, and documented the health hazards 9/11 rescue and recovery workers were subjected to (in large part due to EPA's negligence, incompetence, or deliberate misinformation - take your pick).

It was stunning and incredibly sad. Grown men crying because they did so much for their city and country and their government just abandoned them. It showed a group of three of them trying to lobby congress and these fat-cat congressmen just brushing them off.

They gave a link to the program with some segments you can watch - it'll make you furious. I hate these evil greedy Bush bastards for a lot of reasons, and this is one of them.

1. that sanctimonious hypocrite wrapping himself in 9-11, flag, Jesus
and then abandoning these people, words can not describe the job he has done as president.

2. I also heard from some law enforcement friends that all the search dogs
used at the WTC site after 9/11 are all dead. None of them lasted a year, they said.

3. what made me so mad about the lobbying scene...
Edited on Thu Jan-12-06 09:12 PM by Neecy
Is that these were average Americans trying to speak to members of Congress about an urgent need. They weren't big K Street lobbyists, didn't have loads of money to dump on their doorsteps, weren't slick and well-dressed, and these Congressmen wouldn't give them the time of day. After numerous brush-offs one of them, a big, tough looking guy broke down and stood at a window and wept.

Made you real proud of our government, and how our *real* concerns are treated.
