I have a sleeper cell right here in my home. |
|
My son just returned from finishing his freshman year at Oberlin college and I believe he majored in sleep. He also minored in Freshman Dorm Life 101. He did outstanding work in both areas.

and then they come home, all big and lummox-like, and eat everything in the fridge when they aren't sleeping. I feel your pain! :)

3. As a college instructor |

I can tell you that he incurred a heavy "sleep debt" over the academic year. He's not even done paying the interest -- it's only May. :-)
And just so you know, we are relishing the easy access to parking in college towns across America, as the undergrads go home to sleep.

Enjoy him. Mine are not so far away that they come home for the summer anymore and they both now have places rather than dorm rooms. My oldest did quite well his freshman year in the same courses yours did, one reason why he is returning to school again next year :eyes:
One will be home for a few days tonight, both for the next weekend. I could spend $400 on groceries and they would eat that up and still ask for money to go out and get food. Gotta love them but damn, between sleeping half the day and eating the rest of it you just have to wonder what they were really up to all year don't you?
Have fun :).
Sleeper cell, that is really funny.

My son just got home last week after his freshman year at Davidson College. Sleep and Frat Life 101 were his majors and he's still doing major work in his study of sleep.
I can't wait till his job starts next week! Besides the sleep, it's the leaving things all over the house and wanting me to feed him at all hours of the day. He hasn't quite gotten the independence thing yet.
Oh, well, he's still my baby!

6. put up a counter of days till they need a job ? |
|
figgering out that your alternatives on getting that ploma will be living at home or working is a mo-mo-mo-motivator, trust me. Not to be a hardass or anything, and speaking from their perspective - you'd be doing them a favor.

7. I thought that perhaps |

you had a bunch of cats. They sleep all day, you know.
My younger son is motivated to work because we won't give him spending money. He came home the beginning of May and had a job in about four days. It's only part time, and I wish he'd get a second job. Oh, well, not giving him money may help.
