I'd like to see a Bush v. Gore poll taken in Tennessee.
One of the talking points that keep coming up from right-wingers is "Gore didn't even win his home state."

Well, I'd like to see who Tennesseans would vote for today.

1. Doesn't matter.
None of these stupid polls coming out right now matter. They're encouraging, and it's fun to imagine what might happen, but elections matter. And a lot can change in five-six months.

2. Agree. Please post this in Tn state forum
also would just love to see a Tennnessee poll asking Tennesseans:
"Right now, is your opinion of Al Gore generally favorable or unfavorable?"

3. I don't trust the voters of Tenn. to have good enough judgment
to realize what a great President their native son would be.

10. If you mean "am I biased against Tennesseans", I am simply
recalling that Gore didn't carry the state in 2000.

11. There were voting irregularites and also the introduction
of electronic voting machines. All the funny business didn't just happen in FL

13. I'd be glad to believe your explanation. I like Tenn and it's people.
I was sorry to see that they weren't able to give Gore their votes. I hadn't heard about any polling place irregularities. But, in light of your information, I will hope that those problems will have been solved prior to November.

6. It never mattered
Gore hadn't run for office in TN 1988, long before the state seriously trended red. It was a totally different place by the year 2000.

8. My middle TN county went red in 2000, same year
electronic machines were introduced.
There are still deep pockets of blue in the state. Blue and getting bluer.

9. In one of those deep blue pockets!
This rural county is true blue... The people here are the first to feel the pinch when Republicans in office start cutting the safety nets. Like one older lady here told me in 2004, "whenever there's a Republican president, it's hard times".
