Drudge Falsely Smears Gore
Matt Drudge is looking for any excuse to smear Al Gore and his new movie, An Inconvenient Truth. He’s been running this story, unsourced, all day:

ThinkProgress contacted Gore’s representatives, who unequivocally confirmed that Al Gore and his associates walked from the Majestic Hotel to the screening at Cannes. Further, Paramount has committed to making the entire tour promoting the film carbon neutral.

UPDATE: At 3:38 PM EST, about an hour after this post, Drudge yanked the smear on Gore from his site.

two for two today drudge you liar

1. Well, that's Dean and Gore within 24 hours. I like it when the RW hack
has to back down from the lies he spews.

2. Midterm election year, reinvigorated Gore...
I think the word smear is going to be showing up more and more often.

About a quarter percent of it will stick, but they're just going to be throwing as much of it as they can. Yank the stories they might, but we'll never hear a retraction or apology.

Considering this film is getting a limited run as it is, I'm curious as to why the right pundits seem to be so interested in Gore lately.

Is the film going to get a wider run?

11. Gore won't win in 2008
He is loved among the left-wing and the environmentalists, but no one else. If the GOP runs McCain or Guiliani, they will attract all the independant votes. And Gore would lose by 10+ points.

This is why Hillary is trying to act like a moderate. The Democrats can't win unless they get those moderate votes.

the House and the Senate.

16. Sorry, that's Hillary that won't win in 2008.

Her "calculations" are all wrong. The American people are not only a hell of a lot more liberal than the MSM want anyone to know, they also are hungering for someone willing to take strong stands on things like Iraq, Universal Health Coverage, and Global Warming.

Al Gore IS that guy. And he WILL win. WITH the independent votes, no less.

No offense, but the fact that you even float Guiliani's name as GOP nominee indicates to me that you're not terribly clued in as to what is going on in this country. He'll never be the GOP nominee. Ever. For one HUGE reason.

I'll give you five points if you can tell me what that is.
