They are musicians. Generally I buy musicians albums if I enjoy their music. I'm not a fan of their music, and therefore really don't have much interest in buying their album. More power to ya if you want to purchase it, however.

As far as principle goes, I always find things of this nature silly. They are musicians, not politicians. They spoke out. So what. If any of us had a microphone broadcast to a big audience we'd speak out too. They are people like us and simply spoke what they felt. I don't feel the need to purchase their album for it. I understand why others support the buy their album campaign, however, and they have my blessing. I just personally choose not to join the effort.

Do they really need my 50 cents (probably their cut, if they're lucky, of my 15 bucks for their album)? What would it be used for? Are they currently running campaigns and drives for money to be used to help elect democrats to congress this fall? They have a lot of money already right? Are they currently using any of it to sponser democratic candidate? Are they lobbying politically to erradicate election fraud? Do they require fundraising to help Ned Lamont stand a chance in CT? If they already have money, how much of it are they currently using to purchase airtime, ads, or other methods of spreading the democratic message?

I fear the answer to all the above points would be a negative. I find no fault in that. They're just musicians. Granted, they're musicians that strongly dislike shrubby, and with good reason, but they are still just musicians. If I liked their album I'd buy it. But like I said, ain't a fan of dixie chicks music LOL
