is fear. Conservatives live fear based lives. "Someone" is going to take all their stuff away. Someone could be females. People of different religions. Races. Sexual preferences. Whatever. Listen to them talk. They're about as far away from the compassionate strength of the Christ they profess to worship as they can be. They're Golem. Shivering and quaking about what they might lose. They fear books, education, travel, art, music. Whatever makes them think, question, and move beyond their narrow experience scares them. Life is frightening. And so it must be controlled. Suppress women, minorities, people of other faiths. And, maybe, just maybe, no one will find out how really small and scared you are.

22. I Disagree To A Point

I grew up in an abusive household, with an alcoholic father...and have spent a lifetime of having everything I ever valued always taken away from me by some asshole...usually, the takers are the right-wing motherfuckers I hate so badly.

It is possible to live a fear-based life on our side of the fence, because I do. I'm fearful of THEM. The right wingers. the ones who want to take away my civil and human rights, my freedoms and liberties, my Constitutional rights, my very dignity!

THESE are the things that have always been taken from me.

The difference is only in what we value. The right-wingers who have the "Someone" is going to take all their stuff away mentality...what they value is MATERIAL STUFF.

What I value...and is always being taken from me is non-material stuff.

I'm not sure if it's "meanness," though, or coldness. Regardless of the terminology, there's a distinct lack of warmth in the eye department.

I've always seen these types (and Limbaugh, too) as the guys who were too dysfunctional to get a date. They made girls uncomfortable. That's where their hostility towards women and sexually repressive personalities come from.
