This is how I'm going to invest in my child's future:
Be part of making sure the next president is Al Gore.
I am convinced this is the best long-term thing I could ever do for my child (in the public arena).
I'm not just off spinning fantasies. If he were stock; I'd transfer most of my investment capital to him. And I've got a small but respectable nest egg.
Working to elect him; I could come home at night and see my child sleeping...and know that I had done everything in my power to secure a safer and better future for him....the best available now.
This was inspired by a comment left for Arianna's article on HuffPo:"Al Gore is a candidate that I would piddle away my last dollar supporting, and I am poor. But I would like to have an earth to live on that is green, with parks, and with delicious drinking water." By: April on May 22, 2006 at 07:13pm

I'm sorry that many of us do not agree on this; but of course that is what makes DU and this country great. I look foreword to this campaign season from 2006-2008; it should provide for some great discussion and learning experiences.

1. I'm with you!!
I have two small children and when I think about how great this country could be under Gore, I want to cry. Instead, we got stuck with 8 years of criminals and idiots.

Al Gore would make an excellent candidate for President. To me, he is the "anti-Bush". I would love to see them throw Jeb at us...I don't think the Bush name is carrying as much clout as it once did.

2. Given Fair Elections, Gore Would Win by a Landslide
Give Fair Elections, Gore Would already be President!

It all comes down to stopping the election fraud.

3. You're so right.
and I will certainly be workng hard to try to insure that elections are fair both this year and 2008. However; I feel his momentum is unstoppable...if for some reason by 2008 the elections are still rigged or stolen; I think dire consequences will come. I do not think it will be possible to pull the wool back over America's eyes. We will see.
