The latest reach of the Unitary Executive
I don't have much use for William Jefferson: Democrat or not....He deserves what he gets and we would make a mistake if we use this to defend him. But this is about the Unitary executive thinking it more powerful (Constitutionally) than either Congress or the Courts (FISA)

1. Now they care when one of their own gets hit. What a bunch of
hypocritical traitors.

2. Tinfoil time, but I think there's more to the story than a straightforward
bribe. I can't help but think Rove. Karl Rove. Or some operative acting on his behalf. The targeting of a predictably vulnerable democrat would more likely than not take a whole lotta money if it were offered. Republican money. Set-up. Busted. Media. Democrats have their own Duke Cunningham. The timing is too convenient.

3. Unitary Executive
Has a much nicer ring than "Dictator", don't you think? Much softer sounding.

One of the problems with the Constitution thing, is the part about "Checks and Balances". They don't work too well when the "Checks" side of the equation is AWOL.

But maybe, just maybe, this will piss some of them Congress critters off. Maybe then they'll remember that they're suppose to "defend" that document, not "bend" it.

4. Not just Congress anymore; reporters have been given an ultimatum.
