Kos '08 poll: Feingold handily ahead at this time
This is not the fantasy poll, but a poll of those who are actively looking at a run in '08, and yes, it is way too early, but at this point Feingold is in a strong position with party progressives/activists:

Feingold: 2919 46%
Clark 1000 15%
Warner 657 10%

Everybody else is in single digits. Hillary, who leads most polls of Democratic hopefuls, gets 2% on this poll.

1. Interesting, but is it significant?
After all, polls in places like Kos or (ahem) DU will skew leftward. Given the actual makeup of Democratic primary voters, can anyone honestly say that Feingold is a frontrunner? I don't think so.

Mind you, I really like Feingold, and I think he'd make an admirable president. But I don't see him getting the nod.

3. that's why I pointed out that among activist/progressive dems
Feingold is doing well but among rank and file most polls have Hillary ahead.

2. Telling poll. I imagine it'll be
Warner/Clark
or
Clark/Warner
or
Warner/Feingold

The country is sick of scandals, lies, corruption, and senseless wars. They will look for a change and Warner and Clark will be relativity new faces.

6. And I would bet that every one of those supporters would say it's because
Feingold's the only one who stands up, and is the best fighter and the most honest, and battles the Bush thugs more than any other lawmaker.

9. Yes. But most of kos' voters don't know much about ACTUAL history and
US government.

Test them. Ask them to go through the Senate records and list all the battles Feingold chose to lead, stuck his neck out for, or stood with other Democratic senators. Not quiet votes, but really battled for. It would make an interesting experiment.

10. And doesn't try to straddle the fence - he said gays not getting
married was discrimination and un American - plain and simple. No 'let the states decide', No "well, we should have a debate about it", none of the horseshit coming out of the mouths of the rest of the pols

11. Yeah - on EVERY ISSUE he stands up clearly - no cherry-picking what issues
are important to him. You can always depend on him to stand up in front of a camera and lead the fight for the American people. Just look at Feingold's record in the senate - look at the many battles he has led on - no one comes even close.

12. Yup, that's my story. If Al jumps into the fight, then I pick Al first.
But who really knows anyways, by the time we really need to start worrying about this...I'm guessing our pick will be someone out of left field that we haven't even heard of yet.
