Hillary Clinton could have the full powers of the USA Patriot Act |
|
and NSA wiretapping.
I salivate at the thought of how much fun she could have with these full powers at her disposal. She could all but outlaw conservatism with these powers. The NRA, Christian Coalition and neoconservative think tanks could all be declared terrorist organizations. Rush Limbo, Sean Hannity and Ann Coulter could all be subject to wiretapping; they are security threats.
These people should be careful what they ask for.

No one officeholder should have this kind of power. I thought we got rid of the king some time ago.

3. The NRA has come out against illegal wiretapping |
|
At least that's what I have heard from people I know who are members of said organization.

The moment a Democrat gets into office every pundit, newspaper and news show will be searching for scandals again. A Democrat won't be allowed to use any of this new authority without getting smeared everywhere.
This new authority will get shut down quickly, but the precident will have been set so that the next republican president can pick it up again.

10. I don't know that we'll have any choice. |

We have a money democracy. Only money gets a voice. Corporations control the media, not us.

7. True! Republicans make the rules and expect us all to play by them. |
|
They make and change the rules to suit their agenda. Whatever it takes, redistricting, involving the Supreme Court, control/counting of the votes, etc.

I am vehemently oppossed to anyone, Democrat or Republican, having these sorts of extra legal, unconstitutional powers in their back pocket. This is America, don't you fucking get that, no single person is supposed to have that sort of unfettered power. You and your salivating, drooling post is just as bad as the freepers who drool at the same thought, "Let's now go get my enemies"
Besides, Hillary is just another pig at the corporate trough, and I trust her and what she would do with this sort of power about as far as I can toss my four hundred pound cousin.
Geez, closet fascists everywhere:eyes:

I would think that the intention of the Patriot Act was to keep the opposition party permanently out of power, so Ms. Clinton having powers under its authority is a moot question.

16. I'd expect the next Dem pres to dump the Patriot Act |
|
In fact. I consider a willingness to dump most or all of the Patriot act to be a litmus test to get my vote.

The patriot act needs to be dumped, and dumped NOW! That, plus the re-regulation of broadcast media is what we need to get this country back on the right track.
