2. You knew this was going to be the case.
Security is expensive. It's cheaper to talk about security than to actually provide it.

Besides, who actually believes that they want these machines to be secure?

3. sounds like the job is right up my alley..
I used to run a loading dock and shipped and received computers and their components daily. Too bad I don't live in San Francisco. I've also been told that I'm areally horrible driver, especially backing up. I took out a group of my neighbors' mailboxes recently, I don't imagine voting machines would be much harder.

18. Hmm..lots of "accidents" in shipping/delivery? What a lovely thought.
I'm not advocating vandalism, mind you. But if bunches of Diebold machines just happened to get dropped off a forklift, I wouldn't shed any tears.

6. I don't think they actually drive the machines around--it's an ad for

warehouse workers. I think they probably work at a central warehouse loading & unloading the machines from whatever vehicles transport them to polling places.

Still room for some tricky naughtiness there, though.

11. Ah, you're being too charitable
The ad says dropping the machines off and picking them up -- that's got to refer to delivery.
Hmm. Maybe some of the more computer literate here could volunteer for the job and hoist them on their own petard. }(

9. Can you say "industrial accident?"
I knew you could.

In a fight between a forklift and a voting machine, which do you think would win?

;)
