Should Wal-Mart be required to pay for health insurance for employees who cannot afford it?

Yes, large companies who do not help pay for health care are taking advantage of Medicaid. 71%

No, Wal-Mart has no responsibility to taxpayers and shouldn't be subject to the state mandate. 29%


Hey, let these 29%ers pick up the tax bills for these under/uninsured Wal-Mart workers.

3. I find the wording of the choices interesting
because it spells it out clearly-either WalMart has no responsibility or it does its duty as a corporate citizen.

8. Walmart gets lots of corporate subsidy.
Therefore none of our feelings and beliefs on the issue matter.

They take our money, therefore they must give back to the system that helps them so well.

Give the workers the medical coverage.

Or stop takin' a damn penny of tax money.

I don't see the problem here.

Especially when walmart's folks support the party that says "support yourself", "pull your feet up with your bootstraps", and the other prattling catchphrases the 'pubs love to use... they are hardly giving any cred by saying "support yourself" as they happily help themselves to loads of free taxpayer money.

13. How about not allowing underemploying while they're at it?
Which is how they underinsure.

When a company chooses to pay for an hour of work,
then they should pay health and benefits for that hour of work,
either to the employee or to the government that pays the bills that company does not.
