"Bush can't fool the people who've been living in tents since September"

HURRICANE AFTERMATH
Bush: On rebuilding, locals know best
He says those in D.C. should help, but not dictate, plans for region

By JULIE MASON
.........

Some were unhappy to see the president in the region. Ben Smilowitz, a former Red Cross worker who started his own relief organization, said help from the government has been too slow.

"President Bush can't fool the people who've been living in tents since September," Smilowitz said. "He can't fool the families on food stamps and displaced students without college loans after he cut them and gave tax breaks to the wealthy."

3. Maybe he thinks like his mother does, that this situation is working
out nicely for them. :puke: Or maybe he doesn't SEE the people living in tents, doesn't worry about people who have to rely on food stamps to "put food on their families", maybe he can't relate to these people or to any of us non rich types, at all. Good thing he's such a good "Christian" though, or this type of behavior would be completely unacceptable and unbelievable. :sarcasm: :puke:

5. ** reads people's eyes.....
"I can remember coming here, the times I came, and looked hard in people's eyes and saw a sense of desperation and worry and deep, deep concern about the future," Bush said.

Now "the eyes have cleared up."

What is he, a psychic?
Get the money started already!!!
My ex is working for SBA down there
and he says the looks of desperation are
hard to face, and he can only hope that he is
doing some good.

9. That was my reference.
But I like Dubyaville better. It rolls more trippingly off the tongue.

11. We have 'em already, all right...
...and the ones in NOLA are no more *'s fault than are any of the others. I suspect that the nuber is growing; they should all be named after the F-up-in-Chief.
