My husband and I received a free pass to go see a new movie starring Anthony Hopkins. I arrived at the theater before my husband, and approached a young woman in a black dress standing next to a ticket taker. Thinking she was also a ticket taker, I asked her where the line for the movie was. She informed me that she did not know, as she was with the 'Office of George Bush'. Then I look at her chest and there is a name tag that also states 'Office of George Bush'. When she told me that, I said, 'That's too bad'. While waiting for my husband, I sat on a bench in the lobby, and continued to watch this young woman. She had a young male comrade, also with a George Bush nametag. Periodically, they would meet extremely well-dressed people and escort them into a theater, at the back of this multi-plex. Right in front of me, there was a reporter interviewing a gentleman on TV. There were also a lot of basketball teams from different universities in the lobby as well. The lobby was abuzz with activity. At some point, I stopped the 'George Bush' labelled young man, and asked what was going on. He stated that he was with the office of George Bush. 'Daddy Bush?', I questioned. He laughed and said 'yes'. Daddy Bush was hosting a viewing of 'Glory Road', a movie about a basketball team there in that theater. Apparently, the man being interviewed on TV (Fox News, of course, I'm not kidding!) was a man on whose life a part of the film was based.
Heard someone say that Daddy Bush had been a basketball player in his younger days. Don't know if that's true or not.
Didn't see any recognizable secret service or anything. We went to see our movie, and by the time our show was over, every one was gone.
Hmmmm.... When I first saw the 'Office of George Bush' nametag, my first thought was 'Now he's monitoring our movie-going activities? Has this man nothing better to do?' Frankly, nothing this man would do at this point would surprise me.
