One inner voice says this must must mean they don't have quite enough to hang him with, even with the vid tape that nobody's seem yet.
Another voice says they just want to set a precedent for walking all over the doctrine of separation of powers.

So which voice should I listen to?

2. The one that says
pull aq Rove stunt crazy enough to be the talk of all the corporate media until election day. Which would, of course, eliminate the issue that the Dems have been hammering for the past year - Culture of Corruption.

Fox has already spent more time on this than all other Repub corruption scandals combined. Mission accomplished.

3. Christ this is totally out of control.
When we KNOW what the hell the actual legal reason was for conducting this search in this way, let's deal with it. We do NOT know at present. A judge signed off on the warrant, so if this is some executive branch conspiracy well... presidents and judges can be impeached. If there's a case for it, fine. If there's not, this is a great deal of wasted energy on suspicions without any hard proof.

Though I see that's not going to stop anyone. (Sigh)

7. They're stating (again) that the Executive is above the other 2 branches.
They've done it repeatedly, and this one party government has allowed them to get away with it. They've been allowed to set a sort of dictatorial precedent over and over again. They're fascists. This is what fascists do.

dunno nuttin' about this case.
Yes, even the good guys and gals get caught up in nastiness.

but, overall, the nastiness has come from seated misadministration.

11. Now as written that's just silly.
You tried to ask if the money was there before or after, right? Obviously they couldn't find it before raiding. Even if they planted it themselves (which I don't see as anywhere remotely near credible).

12. That's not what I meant at all
If they searched the office first, were they looking for the money? If they searched his home first and found the money, what were they looking for in his office?

13. Didn't they find the money seven or eight months ago?
Seems like I read somewhere that they've been asking for documents and stuff from Jefferson since then and that he was ignoring them.

Does anybody remember Jefferson getting the National Guard to take him to his house in NOLA in the aftermath of Katrina? It caused a stink because the Guard was need to rescue people off their rooftops.

That raised a lot of eyebrows - - and speculation as I recall.

15. It's ok, this case has not been reported in neat, tidy ways.
There's not much information out there, it's not hard to cross the information that is out there...

But yes, the raid was about documents. Unfortunately we won't know anything more until someone talks. If the judge doesn't want info revealed just yet, that constrains the executive branch (if it doesn't want to eat a contempt charge). Meanwhile, we suffer. Congress wants answers too but the involvement of the judicial branch complicates that.

16. They closed down that part of the bldg. for the search
How convenient. Who was allowed to go into that area for this search? Were any other offices entered, rooms wired, computers downloaded, etc. If I were a Representative it would not make me happy to know the authorities had access to the whole area. When they have a bomb alert/scare on the Hill and everyone has to leave who is watching the store then? Paranoia setting in.

17. My Voice is Telling Me
The Repugs are noticing slooping pool numbers, and political discourse so they need to shake the Dems up just in time for the midterms.

That's just my two cents
