You have to love that "liberal" media

This week’s edition of Newsweek has a little story titled, Will Your Vote Count in 2006, by Steven Levy. It seems that Newsweek just discovered the fact that Diebold voting machines are—hold your breath—untrustworthy.
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/12888600/site/newsweek/
Indeed, this piece goes on to tell you about how an organization called Black Box Voting did a study and found,
Snip
“…Unheralded vulnerabilities in the machines that are currently entrusted to faithfully record the votes of millions of Americans.”
Unsnip

Could it be possible that this is NEWS to Newsweek? This is akin to the Chimp bringing up the fact that we’re a nation addicted to oil in his last State of the Union speech. Maybe it’s just that Steven Levy normally writes about issues concerning technology, so of course he wasn’t aware of all this Diebold skull-fuckery business until this week. Does that seem plausible to anyone out there?
What really got me was, what was not mentioned—like the fact that the CEO of Diebold declared in a 2003 Republican fundraising letter that he was committed to helping Ohio deliver its electoral votes to Bush.

2. Who was it that said
Edited on Thu May-25-06 01:28 AM by Downtown Hound
"It's all over except for the counting, and we'll take care of the counting." It was some Republican Congressman I think. If that isn't a clear admission of guilt I don't know what is.

On edit: Never mind, I found it. Pete King (R) NY

"It's already over. The elections over. We won. It's all over except for the counting, and we'll take care of the counting." He said this on October 11th, 2004.

4. Heh, heh I just found it.
But thanks. I mean really, how can anyone listen to that and not think the election was stolen? The guy is basically confessing it right there.

5. Can you imagine the uproar if this video happened in 1992?
And this quote came from say, Dick Gebhardt? Republican leaders, led by Rush Limbaugh, would storm the White House, lock arms, and refuse to let the Clintons occupy it.
True?

6. I don't think they'd have the guts personally
Rush would probably have his maid do it on one of her pill runs for him. But you know what, I'm getting to the point where I think I might be ready to start doing stuff like that. We need to realize that this voter fraud is real, and we are never going to take our country back unless we confront it dead on. We can forget about 2006 and 2008 and every election down the road unless this shit is dealt with. They will never just give our country back to us. We have to take it.

7. Right on. Maybe we could determination learn from Greenpeace
The reason I mentioned Rush was: I remember listening to his program the day before election day in 2000. Many pundits were predicting a popular vote victory for Bush with the posssibility of an electoral college win for Gore (ironic I know). Rush said, word for word: "Folks let me tell you if Bush wins the popular vote but Gore squeaks it out in the electoral college AL GORE WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THE WHITE HOUSE. Republicans and the American People wont let it happen - mark my word."
Now we all know Rush is a blowhard but he does know the republican pulse very well.
Hell, look how well the John Bolton goons disrupting the recount worked ("PRESIDENT BUSH, PRESIDENT BUSH"). I can see them applying the same tactics at the White House.
