A plea to NBC about Meet the Press
This is the email I sent to NBC this morning. I am so sick of liberals never being represented on these shows. Will it make a difference? I hope so.

PLEASE, PLEASE, I beg of you...put some people on the panel who reflect those of us of the political Left. A Centrist black man, a Centrist woman, A Right-leaning editor, and Far Right Wing William Safire does not represent us. How about Molly Ivans, Kristina Vandenhuevel, Tom Flynn of Center for Inquiry, Al Franken, Ed Schultz, Cenk Unger, Thom Hartmann, etc. I am just asking for some consistent representation for my worldview. I have been watching this show for 2 yrs now, and have been disappointed by not seeing people who represent about 30% of the electorate.

1. Why do you thiink we no longer watch TEEVEE
and I am guessing that those folks reprensent more than 30% of the electorate by the way. Libreral views, as long as you don't labels as such, are things most Americans agree with, even if this is not what the corporate whores want to tell you...

2. Thanks for that, I was just thinking of sending an email myself.
Which one of them said that Russ Feingold is a "sane Howard Dean"? I'd like to see one of them call McCain a "sane george bush".

Absolutely infuriating. MKJ

12. You're kidding me!
The SOB really said that - man how long do they keep the "crazy Howard" crap in play? I stopped watching the Sunday Morning gasbags ages ago. It just ruins your day especially the first day of a New Year.

"I'd also like to say that whatever it is that Howard Dean knows, or whatever it is
that he eats for breakfast every morning, if I could give it to every other Democratic
office holder and would-be office holder, we would immediately become the majority
in the Congress and we would have about 35 governors."

- President Bill Clinton, Nov. 12, 1997

15. The MSM talking heads are verrrry intimidated by Howard Dean.
He has very clearly stated his thoughts on the media monopolies and, if given a forum, could create problems for the corporate owners.

He is one of the most clear thinking, straight speaking individuals to emerge on the political stage.

So, they bring out the character assasination by insinuation approach.

Aarrgh! MKJ

3. A Plea won't do
Massive focused organizing against their craven pandering to
power will. Boeing is one of their sponsors, I guess that makes
the Pentagon their targeted audience. How truly twisted is that?

5. I just saw it too..
I'll second that. Safire and the other guy (I forgot his name) who is suppose to be an expert on religion, were falling all over themselves to blame everyone but bush. It was the Mayor and Governor who were the problem in New Orleans, not brownie or their master and thief. It was the intelligence that was the blame for Iraq not the bushies.

9. How about Phil Donahue, Howard Zinn, Seymour Hersh, Mark Warner or some
of the many retired military Generals that spoke against this Iraq war.

You're butting your head up against the wall, but give it a go! Perhaps you can change the way the stinking whore thinks.

The full court press is on to get junior's poll numbers up again. So he can become creditable enough to scare the living shit out of the few remaining morans.

10. I watched that this morning...
It made me sick. Well when they say meet the press this is who is in charge. William Safire sais that the president is just behaving as most presidents do during times of war grabbing power to bring security but there is no one there to counter his arguments with obvious rebuttals. He even brought up that FISA was a virtual rubber stamp without extending that to why you'd need more oversight. They didn't discuss the legal issue itself or why we have this law.

11. Are you laboring under the illusion that they (NBC specifically and
the corporations in general) give a shit what you think? You identified yourself as a non-entity in your message ("put some people on the panel who reflect those of us of the political Left"). We are irrelevant to their worldview. In fact, they'd be much happier if we would all just lay down and die.
You silly liberal.

16.  Don't think that way
Fer Chrisakes, the moderate liberal and progressive left is at least one half of the population, maybe more on specific issues.

The only reason is seems othrwise is that the frickin media has locked out the views of anyone who is to the left of centrist conservative.

We have to stop thinking like a downtrodden minority, and fight for what we are -- a mainstresam half of the political spectrum.
