but they have some powerful pull...I'm betting they will get a tiny slap on the wrist, because Kenny knows too much on Bush and Cheney to do any serious time!

I hope it is not a slap on the wrist.

14. thanx for headsup
If they don't convict these guys it will be a BAD sign. I mean, how bad do you have to be...?

We need to prosecute white collar crime JUST like any other. I heard the other day some joker on NPR call it (quote) " a 'business case, as opposed to a criminal case.' This is EXACTLY how they see it and want the public to view it--like it's a lesser offense. Never mind that it is a violent invasion of the rights of others and shatters lives all the time. But it's 'not criminal.'

23. Five minutes to go........
My fear is they get off lightly, if not completely.

My hope is that they are put away for a long while.
Just because Ken Lay didn't use a Saturday Night Special
to rob ten thousand people of their savings and toss several
thousand out of work, doesn't mean he is innocent. If he gets
off and starts playing golf with Bush Lite again, you'll never
convince me that the verdict was impartial and fair.

Down Texas way where the Oilers play
I am known as a gallant southern gentleman
I lost my grip, my reputation slipped,
And now George Bush, he avoids me like the Taliban

He wrote:
"Sad to say, goodbye Ken Lay
"We won't play golf for many a day."
My stock is down, my corporation's aground,
I'm only left with my mansion in Houston town.

27. The key is the first count
of conspiracy. Guilty on that one, guilty on just about all of them. And if they say "not guilty" on that, then it's likely not guilty on all the rest (according to the legal analyst/'expert').

Sheesh. All or nothing on a virtual roll of the dice.

She JUST got a full-time job with benefits. She had been doing contract work. She is "just now getting some kind of stability".

She lost $200,000 in this mess.

I'm sure if I had stolen billions of dollars I'd be allowed out on bond until sentencing...

84. Everyone - Please remember this moment - because 20 years from now
the next Ann Coulter wannabe will be using Enron as an example of a liberal anti-business witch hunt. She/he will be screeching about how they were victims and how this hurt corporate America.

Please remember these details - the stories of people whose lives they ruined who are crying and celebrating on the air now. Remember that they WERE guilty.

90. Ken Lay will probably spend the rest of
his life in jail said a reporter to another woman who lost everything..

Do you feel sorry for him he asked?

She said no... Ken Lay encouraged their employees to stay with the stock and to buy the stock when he knew it was failing... It is sad, but they are happy to see them hang here...

And over his shoulder I saw Ed Bradley talking to someone. So evidently "60 Minutes" is doing a piece on this.
