Poll question: Which Marriage Will End First: Bill/Hillary Clinton or George/Laura Bush |
|
Since the newspapers are playing the gossip game, let's play, too!
Please note that in both cases the blame is being placed squarely on the shoulders of the husband; while this is not meant as a generalization of men, in this case I'm picking them as the "reason" because they have both occupied the Oval Office. (Start your own poll if you don't like mine.) :)

1. Alcohol didn't make Laura almost leave W - it was his affair w/ Bo Derek |
|
during his Daddy's 88 campaign. Of course, he blamed alcohol..... many cheating spouses do.

3. Bo Derek had an affair with George Bush?!?!?!?!? |
|
Never heard that one. Guess ole George uses that as yet another reason for his arrogance and self-importance.

LA callgirls who used to party with the Houston boys didn't seem to have much physical success with him - but they did like his coke.

2. Even though I voted yawn |

it's not because the subject bores me - it's because I am so OD'd on all four of these individuals - and I really wish they would all go on a long vacation together and let our nation get a fresh start!

5. Hil & Bill will never divorce. She knows how much damage it would do |
|
to her presidential aspirations, and her entire political career. And I don't think that George will "let" laura divorce him, Stepford wifes don't act that way.

Laura will live an entirely separate life from Georgie, but remain married. She will live off of the Bush name and corrupt fortunes. They will pretend that they are a couple only when they must.
Hillary and Bill seem to occassionally like either other's company. And it would be an invitation for political pot-shots for them to get divorced, so they won't. They'll make the best of it. But I doubt they'll be as estranged as Laura and Georgie.

7. I can see W. & Pickles splitting the sheets early in 2009... |
|
There won't be any more need for pretense.
Bill & Hillary, on the other hand, will have to stick it out at least until after whatever Presidential race Hillary decides to enjoin (oh, and if she wins for however long she is in office). See my point?

10. Neither-both are in for the long-haul |
|
If Hillary didn't leave Bill over the women, and Laura didn't leave George over the drinking, neither marriage is about to fall apart now.

12. I say George and Laura Bush... |
|
Laura has no political aspirations after they leave the Whitehouse. It is more politically expedient for the Clintons to stay together, especially with Hillary's upcoming Presidential run.
I view all politicians with the same jaundiced eye and believe political expedience is a priority over anything they would do for me.
