Poor, poor Freepers. Poor, poor dears...They trusted Dubya to be a fiscal conservative and their boy created massive federal deficits putting those even of Saint Ronnie's to shame. They trusted Dubya to keep the US safe from Islamic terrorists and he was caught with his pants down around his ankles on September 11th. They trusted Dubya to settle the Taliban in Afghanistan and are now finding that the Taliban is regrouping and gaining back its strength. They trusted their dear friends in the Republican Party to stay honest and now they're finding out just how corrupt they really are. They trusted "abstinence-only" curricula to keep their children and grand-children safe from abortion and venereal disease and find them infected. They trusted Dubya and the GOP with the nation's heritage and found that national park and national forest entry and camping fees have gone up and that maintenance has gone down. They trusted the NRA to look after hunters' and sportsmens' interests and found that the NRA was more than willing to look the other way while the Republicans' pro-development policies closed off hunting areas and polluted anglers' streams. They trusted Dubya with Medicare and are finding out that Dubya actually meant to dismantle it entirely. They trusted the Republicans to protect their voting rights and are finding that the GOP is more interested in making it more difficult for pensioners and others in strained finances to vote.

Now they find that the unpleasant facts are coming out despite Faux News and other propagandists' best efforts.
