Quote of The Day (from a DU poster): |
|
"Anger is a Goddess-given emotion that tells you that you're facing injustice!"--DUer femrap http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=2639956&mesg_id=2641896I propose that we embrace this anger and use it to fuel our fight creatively. Just a reminder (I know all you intelligent souls know this already!).

1. If it wasn't for anger, we'd still be a colony of England. |

2. Ha! You got it, Afredo! Honest anger is a beautiful thing to behold, |
|
when people are being slaughtered by the tens of thousands, detained without charges, tortured and "rendered," left to rot and die in a hurricane disaster, spied upon, robbed of their small pensions, gouged for medical care and insurance and gasoline and heat, their jobs outsourced, their children in shoddy schools, their hopes and dreams dashed, and their repeated efforts to vote for a fair and just and peaceful society foiled by election theft.
Yes, to honest and righteous anger! It is the preface to revolutionary change. It is the heart and soul of this country. The Constitution is a document seething with honest anger--against tyranny! It hems in potential tyrants every way that its composers could think of. It's time we felt that again, and put beautiful anger to work in addressing the newly devised methods of tyranny, in our era: corporate control of election machinery with "TRADE SECRET," PRORPIETARY programming code; corporate monopolies of our public airwaves; global corporate predators and war profiteers ravaging others, us and the planet, and the corporate pig trough that our nation's capitol has become.

If our electoral system works the next few cycles, maybe the change can be peaceful. I hope so. Those who have been manipulating the system are very near-sighted. They either don't see the negative consequences of their actions, or they do and don't care.
Our job is to work from the ground up for a positive change. We need to channel our anger into votes for truly progressive candidates. I work my anger off by canvassing leafleting, and postering for candidates and causes.
