CNN: Are you worried about Iran's nuclear program?
I wish they had asked if I was worried about the Cabal's propaganda and actions concerning Iran's nuclear program, but that's not likely to happen. :eyes:

1. 73% Yes?
Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 11:06 AM by ewagner
The administration's hype must be working.....

on edit:

so what if they end up with Nuclear weapons? They will learn, as everybody else who possesses them already has, they are next to useless. There is no way Iran would survive a nuclear exchange. Use of the weapons would be suicidal and they must know that too.

5. I have to wonder about the wording
Some may reply "Yes" because they're worried Junior will use Iran's program as an excuse to go to war, again, but not worried about the program, itself. Otherwise, the "yes" votes are puzzling, indeed.

15. If Iran
Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 11:44 AM by ewagner
either launched a nuclear-tipped missile or even threatened to do so, the entire country would be turned into the proverbial "glass-lined, self-lighting, parking lot". Hence, nuclear weapons are useless except as a deterrent in the sense that they would be a last-ditch, suicide weapon.

edited for spelling....

18. This is only true...
...if your country isn't run by insane religious lunatics who believe all sorts of lovely wonderfulness exist on the other side. Are the mullahs crazy enough to martyr an entire country? Does anybody really want to find out?

20. I think we're dealing with
controlled insanity ... I think that it is politically expedient for certain Mullahs to have the world think they're insane. I don't believe they're actually "unloose the nukes" crazy. It's just another form of brinksmanship/blackmail. JMHO

btw: thanks for the very civilized disagreements. That's when I really enjoy DU! :hi:

2. Very
Iraq was based on bullshit when we should have been paying attention to Iran. If you don't see the very real danger, it's Bush's fault for lying about Iraq and crying wolf.

17. I listened to a Scott Ritter speech on the radio yesterday
It's all a part of conditioning the American people for the invasion. And although the speech was 4 months old, you can see it falling into place.

Poll question: Should we invade Iran? 83% No

Poll question: Are you worried about Irans nuclear program? 80% yes

Poll question: Should Iran be prevented from building WMD? 85% yes

Next step, go to UN for economic sanctions. When Russia or China veto it, make the case that we have to go it alone because we have no support.

We now have a small family of "usable" nukes for "surgical strikes".

People in Iran welcome us for saving them from mullah's.

This will go over about as successfully as the Iraq invasion, but these guys "create their own reality", and kill the rest of us in the mean time.

4. I think we all should be "worried" about it
It's the reaction to it that worries me. BushCo are nuts, but I can't say that I see too much sanity on Iran's side either.

6. I'd say that about nails it. This poll can be interpreted many ways.
I'm sure CNN will give it the spin that most favors, Junior, unfortunately.

8. I'm worried about both, actually.
I don't trust either any farther than I can throw them. Iran is being deliberately defiant and I have no doubt that it is on the path to developing nuclear weapons, which, considering the country and its current radical leaders who have a virulent hatred of the West and America in particular, is frightening beyond measure.

And I have no doubt that Bush and his cronies will handle it in the totally wrong way and cause the situation to become far worse and we will all suffer terribly for it.

11. If it is true..that the CIA gave the blueprints for a trigger device
to the Iranians, then yes, I am worried. Of course Iran would be the third nuclear power in that region....the first Israel, the second Pakistan....which would mean we would have three loose cannons in that region and all of them untrustworthy.

14. They won't even let us breathe
We have a lifetime opening in the SCOTUS we're fighting, NSA spying, an economy that's harder and harder to stay afloat in, people along the Gulf being told they must rebuild within four months or lose homes (why can't the US Gov't set the same timetable for itself in Iraq?), soldiers returning as freight and struggling to live in a nasty fight nobody wants to see, House and Senate Republicans - some of whom get to choose the next SC appointee (?!?!?!?!?!)- embroiled in bribery and fraud scandals and all I could find on the radio last night was either "Alito is a shoe-in la-di-da" or "Iran is a danger to us."

This maladministration is hell-bent on raping the resources of another nation. Guess they milked Iraq for all it was worth; the return on the investment not as much as hoped. Gotta rape and pillage some more....
