When you vote Repubs into power, they think the government is theirs...
...and it makes no difference if they won by only a few votes. They have no need for consensus or bi-partisanship as long as they can maintain a majority. They will rule by brute force. They believe they "own" the government. Why else would the people vote them into the majority?

It doesn't matter if they had to steal votes to be declared the winner. It doesn't really matter if the majority of their own Party disagrees with their agenda. They were voted into power by their voters and they believe that gives them the authority to do as they wish, no matter if only 5% agree with them.

The status quo is for other politicians - not for them. They wish to build a new government in their own image. The only thing that matters is power and so long as they control the levers of power, they will continue to promote an agenda for the few and the rest be damned.

"Bipartisanship is date rape". That's the nearest thing the jerks on the right side of the aisle have ever had as a principle.

ON EDIT: Still spelling like a Freeper tonight. I think my crappy sig pic is getting to me.

4. That pic gives me the creeps.
I was born in 1961, and looking at that pic reminds me why my life is so fucked up...

6. Maybe clown faces. If you made them look like the clowns that
they are, it would be easier on the eyes.

P.S. Thanks.

3. After reading your post, I've been trying to remember
which journalist quoted a member of the Bush gang in 2000 who said before the election that if Gore won the electoral college but lost the popular vote that they would encourage massive demonstrations and civil disobedience until Gore handed over the presidency to Bush. When the final results were the exact opposite, they of course said we should get over it.

Their hypocrisy is amazing. Honor is a meaningless word to these people who use a very simple and vague "morality" to convince Americans to vote for them.
