cookies question to GD
I was searching for some old documents I have regarding coins I purchased for investments.

My search found this:

C:\Documents and Settings\BabyPJ\Cookies
babypj@coincide.us.intellitxt<1>

opening the file shows this:
VM_USR
870ff96f-a2be-4b54-ad35-7460c71cbc33|1148914836
coincide.us.intellitxt.com/
1024
2751693312
29786928
3158224672
29780893

Should I be suspicious? What IS that?

1. It's malware related
http://www.scumware.com/apps/scumware.php/action::view_article/article_id::1088567305/topic::Scumware,-Spyware,-Adware-&-Malware-Applications/

Not government related, if that's what you're concerned about, but you don't want it on your machine because it will gum up the works and may invite buddies over to play.

Get a copy of Adaware http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/ and Spybot http://www.safer-networking.org/ and run them regularly. Both are free for personal use.

4. I haven't tried that one
But was able to disable and clean up after an attack that dumped 600+ files onto my computer in a 5 hour period (and turned it into a doorstop) using Spybot, Adaware, and hijackthis and turned it into a doorstop. Adaware and Spybot are pretty safe, but I don't recommend hijackthis to anyone who is not pretty computer savvy. Hijack this takes a fair amount of manual sorting out to ensure you don't completely disable your computer.
