1. Clowns.
(and my apologies to real clowns everywhere, for that comparison...they do good work. Clowns as "news"casters are wrong.)

10. Everybody Wang Chung tonight..... lyrics
Id drive a million miles
To be with you tonight
So if youre feeling low
Turn up your radio
The words we use are strong
They make reality
But now the musics on
Oh baby dance with me

Rip it up - move down
Rip it up - move it down to the ground
Rip it up - cool down
Rip it up - and get the feeling not the word

Chorus:
Oh everybody have fun tonight
Everybody have fun tonight
Everybody wang chung tonight
Everybody have fun tonight
Everybody wang chung tonight
Everybody have fun

Deep in the world tonight
Our hearts beat safe and sound
Ill hold you so close
Just let yourself go down

Rip it up - move down
Rip it up - move it down to the ground
Rip it up - cool down
Rip it up - get the feeling not the word

Repeat chorus

On the edge of oblivion
All the world is babylon
And all the love and everyone
A ship of fools sailing on

Across the nation, around the world
Everybody have fun tonight
A celebration so spread the word

Will Ferrell and Sheri Oteri

9. Chung is slammed in Oliver Stone's movie "Salvador..."
But you have to know the back-story to catch it.

One scene features a clueless, airhead TV reporter who does all her "reporting" from a luxury hotel in San Salvador. In a hilarious touch, she wears brand-new Abercrombie & Fitch camouflage gear. Some other reporters slip her a dose of LSD and watch the fun as she tries to report on-camera.

That bit was based on Connie Chung's "reporting" from El Salvador. Where, Informed Sources said, she rarely left the hotel pool and turned up looking ridiculous in faux camouflage gear.

Watching the movie now reminds me of the "embedded" media goofs durings Operation Iraqi Ripoff.

15. Why are Connie Chung and Maury Povich still employed??
I didn't think they had an ounce of credibility left... but then again, the likes of Bill O'Reilly, Paula Zann, and Rush Limbaugh still pollute the airwaves... :eyes:

19. Oh no! They unloaded on "reporting" that provided exactly NO
publically verifiable evidence for their shocking primary claim?

Oh no! Clutch the pearls!

All of which is not to say that I have anything good to say about Maury or Connie. I just don't see what the problem with firing a broadside of the sort I described.

HELLO??!?!! It's this sort of thing that's the problem with lending creedence to stories that give NO publically verifiable evidence. They (and the larger liberal community) get hung for it later on.

If we don't like it, maybe we should do better to reject such evidence-free stories next time.

21. Where was the outrage when
no WMD's showed up in Iraq. As far as whoppers go, I don't think they come any bigger than that fabrication. I'm starting to get the feeling that TO and Mr. Leopold were deliberately fed misleading info to set them up so the right can prop up their crappy version of the "news". All things considered, I'll still take a story by a Truthout or Will Pitt than a lame stream media offering.
