Revolt/Bolt/Vote in the air-- And the most simple solution................
Edited on Sat May-27-06 11:41 AM by omega minimo
We contact our representatives and demand that they represent us. NOW.

We ALL do it.

Will that take a phone call, email, letter, personal visit, sidewalk protest, local OpEds, town hall forums, what? All of the above?

We don't wait for a magical November that may never arrive. We know we have to vote Democrats into the House and Senate in November and then CLEAN HOUSE-- the White House and Under the Dome. That does not mean that we remain impotent now and smugly predict our self-fulfilling prophecies of "done deals" like the insane Hayden nomination.

Our apathy is driving us into the future that we claim we don't want. Can't have it both ways.

Call their bluff. Call their office-- in your state and in D.C. This is their job. PRETEND that you don't know they don't care; don't know they're in the pocket of whoever; don't know they're scared shitless of godknowswhat. PRETEND that this is a democracy and DEMAND that they represent the will of The People.

All of them. All of us.

That's how it's supposed to work, isn't it? If we don't even TRY any more, doesn't that make us lamer than the pretenders that we send to Washington?

Like Thom Hartmann says, "Democracy begins with you. TAG-- you're it."

:kick: :kick: :kick:

edit: sp.

3. Or write to them
I got a "look what I'm doing 'bout immigration" e-mail from my R senator Talent this morning. He's a little nervous about McCaskill this November.

I replied... }(

4. My reps hear from me quite regularly. Here's my letter back from
Nita Lowy, 18th NY. And I know I'm on hillary's shit list.

I do it all the time. Feels good. Let's get everyone to email in on something. Let's them know we're watching them instead of American Idle. Great name, huh?

5. Great name and I liked the part where
a DU thread pointed out that this gave "the kids" an opportunity to learn that their vote counts

7. I had to laugh
at the ad for "Big Brother"
It said: "They live, you watch."
I thought to myself, "nah, how about I turn off the TV and live myself instead?"
BTW, does Big Brother include alot of arguments about what TV show they are going to watch? What if somebody in the house wants to watch Big Brother?
