Tell the Senate to Block Another Trillion Dollar Tax Cut
I just got this e-mail thought I'd pass it around.
I thought it was interesting.

Tell the Senate to Block Another Trillion Dollar Tax Cut for the Super Wealthy

The Senate is set to consider next week proposals to eliminate or "reform" the estate tax. Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ) has proposed a "reform" that would eliminate most of this tax.

But the estate tax is needed to slow the division of our nation into permanent hereditary classes, and the revenue it raises is desperately needed right now to pay for essential services like Medicaid and student loans. These services are under threat from huge deficits driven by reckless spending on an illegal war and on other destructive tax cuts.

Write to your Senators now!

1. I've said it a million times
The Federal Estate tax only touches the very rich. State Estate taxes are what bites farmers and small business owners. The republicans can only drum up support on this by confussing the issue, which they have done a wonderful job at.

2. And then when you are done writing your Senator

Step outside and piss in the wind. The result will be about the same.

5. Amen.
We are not being represented.

It's so disheartening to put all your passion into a a protest, a letter, a phone call, only to be totally ignored over and over again while Congress runs roughshod over the American people. More often than not, I don't even get an acknowledgement.

But we keep doing it because it's all we can do while we are stuck with the losers in Congress.

6. They will pay
it's our job to see that they do. I know it can be frustrating but thats what they hope for, that we'll give up before they do. LOL I'm hardheaded.

7. Gee, let's get ahold of the guys who will also benefit from this tax break
Like every other tax break that's been passed, the wealthy (or those who hope to be wealthy) benefit from all these tax breaks.

Does anyone here think that these guys live on their salaries alone? How many millionaires do we have in Washington now? What proportion of our representatives are in the tax bracket that gets the biggest breaks from the recent legislation?

10. We're in a time of war. This is not the time to slash the budget.
We're all in this together.

Or so we're told.
