Neil Young - a whole lot subtle-er.
someone showed this to me tonight. I hadn't seen it:

I Do Not Agree With Many of this Administration's Policies

If you've seen it posted here before, let me know.
Otherwise, I may give it a kick now & then.
If you enjoy it half as much as I did, it'll be worth it.

I've posted it in the Lounge too. :)

Disappointed in Spacey - and no, I didn't enjoy this latest proof of SNL shilling. What was it I was supposed to enjoy again?
Someone, PLEASE - explain to me - how is this attack on Bush's critics gets votes on DU? Why was it posted and endorsed?
Are we out of our minds?

5. I kind of liked it
They did make fun of Neil and the Chicks just a little bit, but over and over, the skit raised important issues. The last line was the best: "Not available at Walmart".

6. Thanks.
I found it funny.

Someone is bitching and moaning about it in another thread, so I'm kicking and recommending.

:)

i found the other thread and read through it.

some people seem outraged that *we* do not all feel exactly the same about what is funny and what is not.

i found it funny and i'm glad some others did as well. :)

8. It's the outrage that I find baffling.
I don't mind someone bitching and moaning. Heck, we all do - and should ;)

But I sure don't like other people *telling* me what *we* should or should not find funny.

I still think it's pretty darned funny :D

9. seems strange but i guess it's all par for the course here

Knowing I don't watch SNL much anymore, my nephew had the spoof on a DVD he made for me of various Neil appearances since he (the nephew) has time & tivo and we're both big fans of Neil. We watched it together last night and I nearly peed my pants laughing.

I *get* people not finding it funny, but some of the reaction in that thread is just amazing. Oh well, even liberals come with all different personalities.... who knew? ;)

10. Yes, I'm a Neil Young fan, too....
and have been for, er, longer than I care to calculate ;) and I found it delightfully funny.

I also *get* other people not finding it funny. The world would be a boring place, indeed, if we all shared an identical sense of humour, after all ~ but it was the over the top reaction of some (well, only one, actually) that surprised me.

Nothing at all wrong with not finding it funny. Something very wrong with telling others that they ought not find it funny and that they are somehow lesser beings if they do.

Oh well. It's a big tent.

:toast:
