Country radio nixes Dixie Chicks... Maybe the truth hurts
many country music listeners screwed up BIG TIME when they voted for the idiot they call the president.

4. I don't like it either, but I have their first CD
I recognize talent and found it quite listenable. The same goes for James McMurtry's "Childish Things," a CD I can't possibly recommend highly enough.

But country is my least favorite genre, nearly tied with "Christian," and for the same reason.

I haven't decided about this CD. "Not Ready to Make Nice" is a good tune, though.

9. It isn't really country music
- just contemporary folk.

6. I loathe country music BUT...
I totally dig what the Chicks are doing. And I think, given that more and more true blue country singers are turning anti-Bush, anti-War, anti-Bullshit, that this will have a delightfully polarizing effect on so-called country music. I'll go sort my delicates now.

7. I totally agree. Pass the popcorn as all of this stuff goes down.
As far as Iraq goes, is the heart of country music fans with the Chicks, Merle Haggard (who's latest includes the lyrics 'let's get out of Iraq and get back on track') and many others, or is it with the empty hats and Nashville lapdancers who still support *?

Will be fun to watch either way!

8. I bought it as well.
I am not a big country person either but I do like outlaw country and the Texas bard type so the Dixie Chicks have joined those ranks since '03. Hey and don't forget that other groups are continuing to hammer it home to *. Here is the latest Ministry album.

10. Chicks feelings about Country Radio are mutual. They are bigger than CW.
Meanwhile, the Dixie Chicks remain on a major label (Sony/Bmg) while gung-ho warmonger Darryl Worley ('Have you Forgotten') has been relagated to a small independent label. The WILL OF THE PEOPLE still prevails.

12. The Chicks are also number one on Rhapsody...
Now if we could just get some of the "pop" stations to start playing "Not Ready to Make Nice."

It needs airplay.
