and the thread was locked.
Basically, he said that he will vote him out of committee due to his commitment to the President and the the Rep caucus and once he gets on the floor, whether he votes yea or nay will be his own independent decision.
so, he is voting to get him out of committee and then will vote as he sees fit on the floor.
No way he is going to vote yes unless they make him some sort of great deal for some future need.

He's very protective of the rights of the Congress and Executive tresspassing on those rights.
So, he'll vote Alito out of Committee but Bush better not count his vote just yet on the floor.

Roe v. Wade was decided primarily on the Ninth Amendment to the US Constitution, a part of the Bill of Rights. The Court's decision in this case was that the Ninth Amendment, in stating that "the enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people," protected a person's right to privacy.
To strike down Roe v Wade is to strike down that assertion: i.e., that American citizens have a right to privacy.
