Benjamin Franklin can solve the Energy Crisis!
In 1755, Benjamin Franklin sent the Governor of Pennsylvania a quotation which has become beloved on DU.

Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.{/i]

Franklin never thought about what would happen if we gave up our essential Liberty but received not even temporary Safety. In fact, the more Liberty we pay to Bushco, the more dangerous things get.

How then will Franklin solve the energy crisis? Very simple. We exhume Franklin's body. We mount it on roller bearings. We attach sixteen magnets to him and wrap big coils of wire around him, then rebury him with a photo of Shrub and a copy of the Patriot Act. The subsequent spinning will generate so much electricity we can take Grand Coulee Dam offline without noticing a thing.
