The USA trying Saddam for Crimes Against Humanity is making us look stupid |

Edited on Tue May-30-06 06:29 AM by NNN0LHI
In light of Bush's odious illegal American invasion and occupation of Iraq which is going into its 4th year now I think it might be best just to drop the whole Saddam thing. This is really getting quite embarrassing.

It IS totally hypocritical AND stupid. Especially since he committed all of his heinous crimes when he was our ally and Rumsfeld was supplying him with the armaments and chemical weapons

4. Isn't Saddam in an Iraqi court? Aren't the judges Iraqi? |
|
I don't think the US can "drop the whole Saddam thing" - they no longer have the right to do so.

6. Yea the Iraqis are living in a free and democratic society now. Right? |
|
And the Iraqis can do as they please. Right?
And Saddam had Winnebago's Of Death stationed in Tikrit and north and south of Baghdad.
Right?

7. But what can the US do? |
|
The Iraqis want Saddam on trial.
The US just can't free Saddam Drop him off in a Kurdish town? Place him in the witness protection program and settle him in Nebraska? The Iraqis are going to complain.
He could suddenly drop dead but everyone will suspect American involvement.

8. He could be turned over to the Hague as he should have to begin with |
|
But we know that will not happen because if that happens he will have a public forum to implicate his co-conspirators. And we know who that would be. They are running this country right now.

9. too late for The Hague now |
|
but, I agree, it would have been better there. But at this point, my guess is the Iraqis want to see Saddam face Iraqi justice.
And you are right, Saddam has too much dirt on Bushco (not to mention the French and the Russians) to ever go to trial in The Hague.

5. When Bush and his pals are in the dock at the Hague I'll be impressed. |
|
Until that time, however much Saddam deserves trial, I consider it a show trial put on by the invaders.
