18. What am I Missing Here?
They had a search warrant, didn't they? Are searches only legal nowadays without warrants? I just don't get this. There has been such an abuse of executive privilege and the congress hasn't said a word. Isn't Bush "the decider" anymore?

26. The problem was they did it WRONG!
They have the right to search after obtaining a search warrant, but there is supposed to be others there to oversee the search. Some Capital hill police, and a representative of the House, to make sure what they are taking, looking at, can copying, fit within the warrant.

The FBI search lasted 18 HOURS! They copied the entire hard drive of the Congressman's computer.

It wasn't the search, but the cavelier and arrogant method used to do it!

Did you notice that EVERYONE on that panel stated "this search was blatently illegal"?

I have listened to everyone of these guys in the past, and they are ALL extremely knowlegable men. It's quite unusual that they ALL agree!!!!!

57. Sounds like the kind of brutish intimidatory conduct of the FBI
stooges of Kenneth Starr and the Neocon cabal towards the McDougals, and the attitude of the US troops towards the Iraqis, dragooned willy-nilly into Abu Ghraib and the likes, on the basis that they're guilty, until and in the unlikely event that they were proved innocent.

28. Fascism: Power Surge – The Constitutional Record of George W. Bush
From obstructing any hope of Justice or oversight to unconstitutional raids on Congressional offices…

…The America we know, love and have died for is over.

NOTE: For those who don’t understand why a surprise Justice Dept. raid on a Congressional office is a big deal, imagine the Capital Police raiding the White House without the cooperation or knowledge of anyone in the Executive Branch. They’d be shot…or worse.

Today we connect the dots, for in the recent words of former Nixon White House council John Dean:

we are in a constitutional crisis, bush is saying fuck you to congress.
bush is saying we are not equal, the executive branch is above you!
There has to be oversight of the executive branch.
The GOP, or some of them have finally woken up & perhaps realize bush wants to be a king.
Edited to add the key word to bush administration is setting a precedent.. that is how they change our world.
