Accomplishments?

What a hoot! I love it when Republicans pat themselves on the back, all the while telling everyone how horrible Democrats are ("Americans know they can trust GOP," May 26 Reader Views).

They've given tax breaks that have led to a strong economy? I don't think so. They gave tax breaks to the wealthy on the backs of the working man.

Regarding the ban on partial-birth abortions: I wonder why white males are always worried about this; it does not even affect them. I wonder when the Republicans will get out of our bedrooms and private lives.

They appointed two conservatives to the U.S. Supreme Court -- that's nothing to be proud of. It doesn't sit well with the entire nation for them to stack the deck in their favor; not everyone believes the same as them.

And the fact that United States has not been attacked under Republican control -- I hate to tell you this, but we were attacked on Sept. 11 on this Republican administration's watch.

And it is just plain asinine to say that none of the above would have occurred under a Democratic president.

All the while, Republicans refuse to hold the Bush administration accountable for its lies and corruption. I will celebrate the day George W. Bush is out of office. Then we can attempt to rebuild from the destruction and chaos and debt he and his administration have created.

2. Why does everybody forget the anthrax attacks?
It always amazes me that it's like they never happened.

5. I don't forget about them
The "investigation" seemed to be all smoke and mirrors. Could it be because only Democratic senators and the "Liberal" media were targeted. Had to be an inside deal as far as I can figure. I doubt that a real terrorist would have been so discerning about which of our politicians were infected with anthrax.

6. I don't think its a case of anybody forgetting
the Anthrax issue. Its just incredibly difficult to remember all the failures and evil of the bush administration. (A skeptic like me would think the quantity is almost by design.) It is also highly doubtful that if one were to list them in a LTTE, the paper would not print it because of space limitations.

Looks like you made it through the storm! Good.

I have been seeing quite a few like this in the Topeka paper as well but then there was today when one guy went off at the liberal media being the cause of Bush's** bad poll numbers added to the fact that Bush** is now a liberal. It just goes to prove that the nutcases out there who believe like the guy in my paper are just that, nuts and can't be changed. Still we do try.

Good for you Wichita, thanks for sharing it.

Edit for left out word

Seriously, Kansas will vote overwhelmingly Republican in 2008.

13. Why?
Kansas breakdown by year:

2004 Bush 62 Kerry 37
2000 Bush 58 Gore 37
1996 Dole 54 Clinton 36
1992 Bush 39 Clinton 34
1988 Bush 55 Dukakis 42
1984 Reagan 64 Mondale 33
1980 Reagan 57 Carter 33
1976 Ford 52 Carter 45

I predict that the Democrat gets 41 percent in 2008. Which will be cause for celebration.

14. What part is just plain asinine?
Would a Democratic President have given tax cuts to the wealthy on the backs for the working class? Would a Democratic President have put two conservatives on the Supreme Court or stacked the Court in favor of Liberals? Would a Democratic President stick his/her nose in our bedrooms? And as far as the attacks on Sept. 11th go, I think President Gore would have been paying attention in the summer leading up to the attacks, he wouldn't have been vacationing.
