They keep getting closer and closer...and I'll bet the timing for airstrikes and surgical assassination squads will coincidentally coincide with the coming 2006 elections. Cynical? naww The Republicans are not going to give up power without a fight legal or illegal.

10. I got a sick feeling in my stomach watching Condi's presser yesterday
I don't wanna go back in uniform. But if we go to Iran, that is a real possibility.

2. If the majority are against the Iraq war now,
I don't think any strike against Iran will help the Republican party in the elections. People are tired of losing our young men and women for some obscure reason known only to the administration. The drumbeat to bring them home is getting louder also.

3. Sheeple rally around their "leaders" during times of turmoil
Edited on Fri Jan-13-06 03:01 PM by Walt Starr
IRaq will be forgotten and WarPig's numbers will soar.

Count on it.

If the timing is correct, the backlash from the Shi'ite Iraqis and the ground troops from Iran won't hit before the elections and BAM, Republican congress for two more years.

Count on it.

8. No war before the election --
just Fear! Fear! Fear!

Revelations of how dastardly the Iranians are, how they are undermining democracy in Iraq, how they've purchased suitcase nukes to attck US cities. Maybe a terrorist incident involving a lot of Americans, embassy or something, where we will find clear proof of Iranian involvement.

We won't attack until after the elections. I promise.

4. Actually I think the timing of the air strikes ......
will more coincide a little sooner, on, around, or a bit after The Iranian Oil Bourse goes into effect March 20th ....... but we shall see. Hope we are both wrong. Peace.

5. A little sooner if they want to stop the Iranian euro-based oil bourse.
Remember: Iraq was threatening to trade oil in euros right before we invaded. Now, as of March of this year, Iran is starting its own trading bourse to compete with NYSE -- except in euros.

Very good article, BTW. Seems like only financial people are talking about this...

I gather Bush is trying to get Germany and Israel to do his dirty work, Then he will say our help is needed on these EYE-RAN Terrorist. This is exactly how he Mispronounced Iran. Wonder what he offered these countries to do his bidding.

14. Clark has already said that this will happen and that Bush will get
a nice surge of support....

Meanwhile, he points out, there will be the "appearance" of diplomacy but the reality is, we've never talked to them directly.

Now, you would think some smart DC Democrats would be "preempting" all this, taking Clark's advisement, and explaining to the public the game that is going on....

But, guess what? They are doing NOTHING....either because they are too disorganized or because they already know and plan to SUPPORT BUSH all the way. Notice Kerry's little noises to Iran about "the dangerous game" they are playing? What do you think he will do? Has he or anybody else been really explaining all the pre-planned actions of Bushco and the possible consequences???
